Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Is hiring an instrument better than buying?
Answer: Often not. Over a year you can spend between $300 - $400 in hire fees and the residual balance is based on full RRP.
Don't get caught - a pre-loved secondhand with a service is often a far better way to go, and resale is an important consideration.
Question: Should I purchase a cheap Chinese imported instrument?
Answer: BEWARE of Cheap Chinese imports! They are not much more than expensive toys. For example, you can bid or buy online at eBay on so called "new" instruments that are touted as quality instruments. These instruments are generally sub-standard and come with NO warranty. In fact, these instruments are of poor quality and workmanship, and may only last a few months. Repairing these cheap instruments will end up costing you more than what you paid for them in the first place.
Basically, you get what you pay for in purchasing a poor quality instrument. If you stick to well known brands with a warranty, you will be investing wisely in an instrument that will last for years. If you are in doubt, please give me a call.
Why would you go to a shop assistant for advice when you can get the best advice from an instrument repairer and player?
